Tatiana Kalaniʻōpua Young is a Kanaka ʻŌiwi Maoli, mahū+ scholar-activist, and a former community organizer with the United Territories of Pacific Islanders Alliance (UTOPIA). She completed her PhD in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Washington. Kalaniʻōpua serves on the board of Kahea: the Hawaiʻi Environmental Alliance and Hawaiʻi’s chapter of UTOPIA, and continues to advocate for precariously housed LGBTQI+ populations.
